Review | Benton – PHA peeling toner
As you may have seen, some time ago I wrote a review of the Benton Cosmetic PHA peeling gel, which was pretty good for my skin. This time Benton launched the 3% PHA toner, which is supposed to hydrate the skin and make skin smooth thanks to the very gentle exfoliation provided by the lactobionic acid.
Benton – PHA peeling toner – What is PHA?
Poly Hydroxy Acids are a new generation of the well known AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids). Comparing to the AHAs, the PHAs do not increase the skin sensitivity to the sun. More than that, the PHAs are well known because of their moisturizing properties – the PHAs attract water molecules and are rich in antioxidants.
Benton – PHA peeling toner ingredients
The key ingredients of Benton’s PHA toner are:
- sodium hyaluronate – absorbs moisture and hydrate the skin
- sodium PCA – known as natural moisturizing factor with 50% improved moisturizing abilities comparing to the glycerine
- centaurea cyanus and chrysanthemum morifolium flower extracts – filled with vitamins A, B1, and adenine – has anti-inflammatory properties, helps with reducing facial blushing and heals fungal acne
- third-generation PHA – lactobionic acid – gently melts dead skin

Benton – PHA peeling toner – My thoughts
My face loves this toner – Benton recommends to use it 2-3 x per week but I am using it almost every day because I like how good my skin feels right after use. Pores are minimized, the skin gets a fresh, bright, luminous and glowy look. The toner leaves face moisturized, calm, does not cause any irritations and I haven’t noticed any unpleasant tightening effect. Also blackheads and clogged pores are gone!
My skin is dull in color and oily in the T-zone. To be honest, I was struggling to find a perfect toner, and the Benton’s PHA toner matches all of my expectations so I’ll stick with this one for a while! Also what is worth to mention – in combination with the PHA peeling gel the toner works miracles. This combo helps me to reduce sebum production a lot. Overall – big yay for this one!
